A cosmic Drama – the play of energy
Astrology is a cosmic drama played on the stage of zodiac, which is formed by 12 signs. The players of this cosmic drama are 9 planets.
9 planets are different kinds of energies. These planets influence us by their energy, so we can say we have influence of 9 different kinds of energies. The planets are positioned in space around the earth.
The space surrounding earth is divided into 12 equal parts, which are called as signs. Each of these signs can be compared to a canvas – having specific characteristics. Planets move in one or the other sign. As we already said, planets have specific energy, their energy is modified by the sign in which they are.
By knowing the characteristics of planet’s energy and the characteristics of signs, we can understand what kind of influence they throw on us.
Personality and Character of Individual
The basic principle of astrology is that planets influence us through their energy. The combination of different planets in space is different for each individual – especially at the moment of birth, in the town they are born.
Our personality and character is shaped by these different combinations of planets at the time of our birth.
By studying what kind of influence an individual has on his mind and body, we can know which personality traits this person is born with. We can also know what are the challenges this person will face during life, based on projection of personality traits.
Characteristics, Strengths and Weakness of an individual
Every planet is responsible for few things in our life. For example, the sun is responsible for our self-esteem and inner strength, moon is responsible for understanding of our personal needs, Mars is responsible for our ability to stand for our self, Mercury is responsible for intelligence, logic and analysis; Jupiter is responsible for ability to judge right from wrong etc.
Thus, when we study the strength of each planet, we can know the strengths of an individual. In a similar manner, by study of weakness of planets, we can know what are the weaknesses of an individual.
Balance of Elements – finding the way to harmonious living
According to Vedic Philosophy, the entire existence is made up of five elements. Fire, Earth, Air, Water and Ether.
Astrology also uses these elements. Each of these elements is responsible for specific traits. For example Fire is connected with the energy of force, power, initiation; earth is connected with materialism, practicality; air is connected with creativity, communication; water is connected with emotional energy, feminine energy.
When all these energies are balanced, an individual experiences harmony in life. Unfortunately, one of these energy is predominant in individual and other energies are either dormant or inactive. Which results in an imbalanced life, a life full of troubles, problems and challenges.
Vedic astrology helps to understand the balance of elements and shows way to compensate for the energy which is missing in an individual.
Lessons for present life
Vedic Astrology differs from other forms of astrology in the sense that it does not take the birth chart as simply map of space. In stead, in vedic astrology, the chart is considered to be a ‘Karmic balance-sheet’. Therefore, the birth chart of a person reveals his present life situation based on his individual past karma. Within the birth chart, lessons are concealed which eventually help an individual to evolve in his karmic journey.
With the understanding of planetary position, the participants will be able to identify what are the lessons one must learn in this lifetime.
Module 2
This module is about the language of Astrology and moving deeper into the understanding of planetary patterns and their effects on our lives.
Cosmic Drama – Relationship of planets and signs
The understanding of planets and their relationships with different signs is helpful in decoding the cosmic pattern hidden in planetary positions.
Participants will know how different planets relate to different signs, and thereby get deeper understanding of the language of astrology.
Chart – the evolutionary stages of life
Vedic Astrology divides entire human life 12 different compartments, each of them is called a House.
Participants will learn about the Chart – which is formed by 12 houses. The Chart is like a blue-print of future, but more important, it is the balance-sheet of past. It is in the chart, that different areas of life like health, finance, education, relationships, profession etc are divided. The participants will know where they should look in the chart to know about any specific area of life. The chart contains all the information an astrologer needs to decode the mystery of his present and future.
Reading Birth Chart
Once the participants have learned basic things about planets, signs and chart, they will be ready to know technicalities of astrology. They will know about aspects (influence) of planets in different parts of chart
